a review of 深海异兽

ok, so this is a not good movie based on a decent concept. like yeah, the setting contributes most of the horror, but still, it's genuinely scary at times. nobody wants to die under seven miles of water pressure or in the jaws of a giant beast. best part of the movie is when t.j. miller dies. horrific, horrific man baby. i honestly would probably have killed him myself. definite colonizer vibes painting the drillers as the heroes. "turn off all your lights now, it's very important, we'll die if the lights are on" then *turns off all lights* then *turns some lights back on*. movies are so funny. if you're a diver short on oxygen the last thing you're gonna do is talk. but the movie would have been even worse with zero dialogue. for some reason i didn't hate the second half without the endless dumbassery of t.j. miller.
