a review of 怪谈

finally finished this on my fifth night of trying to get through it. i can't give it a lower rating because this probably would have been monumental to see in nineteen sixty-four...very cool film edits. great sound and music. beautiful colors. the sets (i think it's mostly sets) are incredible. however good it looks though, and however fun it is to think about how they even made this over sixty years ago...it's boring. i did not care about the outcome of a single one of these stories. there was no real suspense. it sometimes achieved a sense of eeriness, but yeah just very much not for me. i can see why people like it, but if you struggle with slow pacing...definitely skip this one.
