a review of Soho区惊魂夜

I cant remember the last time a movie disappointed me this much As I reflect on this more my main thought is “he tried and failed to make a movie for the girlies”. I think the style is still very much there but the twist utterly ruins it. I don’t think it needed to be that deep to be good. I think his style in a horror movie is enough to carry an exploration of the themes - but the twist makes it evident that he really didn’t know what he was doing exploring those themes. It’s one thing to be style over substance - it’s another to just - not understand the substance at all.
