Our Evenings - Review
This is the second novel I’ve read by the author after The Line of Beauty. The initial story arc felt a bit like a rehash of the same story, that is, a middle-class gay boy’s interactions with his wealthy friend and his family. Eventually, it develops into something else, a fictional memoir spanning six decades, exploring race alongside gender and class with exceptionally well crafted prose.
