arthouse jason vorhees, sure, but it does aim at something approaching transcendental style-- including all the baggage that the tedium of that style might imply (ymmv). but in between the almost-meditative "i wonder what a killer does in between kills" slice of life sequences, you also get some of the best, most creative kills I've seen.
