a review of 异教徒

flirts with engaging with some interesting and maybe even necessary  themes before it devolves into the inevitable "SAW, but religious" it was actually marketed as (and i enjoyed!), punctuated by a near-literal deus ex machina that both satisfies on impact but baffles almost immediately. shoutout topher grace for giving absolutely nothing for a combined like 10 mins of screen time and still getting billing.
