a review of 最幸福的季节

probably the meanest Christmas movie I've ever seen. just stacked with assholes every minute. pretty much everyone not kristen stewart or mary holland or aubrey plaza. EVERY OTHER PERSON IS A HUGE DICK. INCLUDING THE KIDS. FUCK THEM KIDS. Until the literal last like 8 minutes! Just a deeply unpleasant set of characters wow this is Sapphic Get Out but way more terrifying I'm not even kidding. swap out the comically dissonant score with some creepy tones and all of it makes way more sense. also the only real thematically consistent ending would've been Abby and Riley grabbing Harper's fumble and running with it but Western sensibilities are not ready for that.  kristen and MacKenzie's chemistry was already kind of eh but then you throw aubrey who could believably have chemistry with a literal rock in the mix and what are you even gonna do with that? yes I'm slightly obsessed with Kishotenketsu these days shut up. i can't believe i found a christmas movie I'll never be willing to rewatch.
