a review of 詹妮弗的肉体

i kinda loved this and we really failed Megan Fox. (really, the Studio failed this movie with its marketing, the media failed women in general but especially Megan Fox and we all should've known better, but) this movie would KILL in 2020. and, indeed, there has been renewed discourse of Jennifer's Body throught a feminist/MeToo lens and it's very much necessary and earned. as a movie? if you watch it, think of it as a period (teehee) piece, a time capsule for the dark times that was the late Aughts. It's aggressively 2008 and I love it. no, it's not great, and the... symbolism(?) is kind of clumsy at best and borders on retcon discourse. but i see the connections, even if my dumb cishet man brain is not fully connecting to it at a deeper level. that being said, Jennifer's Body is deserving of its cult classic status. which makes its Rocky Horror reference all the more appropriate.
