a review of 极度空间

I really dug this movie. It's super cheesy and tropey and reeks of the 80s with the minimal electronic soundtrack and white wash jeans. A lot of funny little bits and fun action sequences. The fight scene is really fun and to me, felt like it was metaphorical for our reluctance to remove ourself from mindless consumerism. The overall theme of rejecting consumerism and seeing material goods and media for what they really are is possibly more relevant today than it was when this movie was first made. It'd be fun to see someone do a retelling of this story with all the new types of media out there.
