本书中译本已出：《寻找丽贝卡》。很开心我2023年的阅读生涯是以这本特别好看的小说作结的。尽管结尾其实可以更丰富和精彩，但我猜作者真的已经尽力了——连末尾的致谢都被他写成了故事的一部分。我不知作者在写作时是否明确地将男女主人公都设定为现在所呈现出来的带有psychopathic特质的自恋人格，但他显然对精神病理学有一定程度的了解，并通过对两位表面对抗而实则同病相怜者的描摹探讨了现代人具有普遍性的self-disgust。因此，这是一部披着心理悬疑小说外衣却不断审视人性阴影之处的内涵深刻的作品。作者对多种叙事人称和手法的运用相当娴熟，对真实历史人物的引用以及对细节描写的着力都很好地推动了情节的进展。会继续关注这位作家后续的创作。
