Richard Strauss‘s “Death and Transfiguration”: 另一首个人很喜欢的Tone Poem。Strauss 描绘了一个人临死的过程和感受，从回忆童年到灵魂离体。有一段讲述人临死躺在房间的段落，那段鼓声，有人说是象征时针跳动，我个人认同‘临死前的心跳声’这个说法。整部作品contrast很多，描述死前痛苦的段落真的很揪心。比较有意思的是Strauss写这部作品的时候才25岁，但很多年后，他临死前对他daughter-in-law描述他的感受，他说“it’s amazing Alice, it’s just as what I wrote in the Death and Transfiguration”. （大致这样）
