The story follows the unfolding of the U-17 World Cup, which takes place at the KCC Arena, in Melbourne, Australia. A total of 32 countries are participating in this long-awaited competition, and only 16 of them will manage to qualify for the final stages…

作为TYPE-MOON10周年纪念企划，部分改编自漫画《TAKE MOON》，正式名称是《幻想嘉年华》，和《TAKE MOON》一样是乱入型作品，动画化形式为OVA动画。

《TAKE MOON》为《神薙》原作者武梨绘里所作，是一部融合多名TYPE-MOON旗下游戏角色的同人作品集，其中包括《月姬》、《MELTY BLOOD》、《Fate/stay night》等经典之作。漫画以恶搞剧情为主，单行本发售至第三卷。

本作的动画制作方是Lerche，担任监督的是岸诚二，负责系列构成和剧本的是上江洲诚，角色设定由森田和明和广濑智仁担任，前者还是总作画监督。声优方面，本作基本沿用游戏原作或单作动画的阵容。

第一季于2011年8月12日发售，第二季于2011年10月28日发售，第三季于2011年12月31日发售，另有一话EX Season作为OAD同捆漫画《TAKE MOON》第三卷发售，一话Special Season收录于2013年初发售的《TYPE-MOON Fes.》
