In the midst of a match, Hayato, a successful boxer, has had enough of the sport. He lets himself get knocked out, and quits boxing, leaving his wife and living alone with his mangy dog. One day a young mediocre boxer knocks at the door and wants to be Hayato's apprentice.

After his parent's divorce, Kazuo Saito moves with his mother from Onomichi and must leave his girlfriend behind. At his new school, Kazuo is surprised to reunite with his childhood friend Kazumi.

Bored with her school life, a 16-year-old student leaves home to take a trip along the Pacific Ocean. After meeting with a theatre group she falls sick and is rescued by a fisherman.

明昭大学二年の谷口美穂と浅井洋子は、かつて高校時代のバスケット部でチームメイトであった吉川ケイが、現在も女子体育大のバスケットの女王として大活躍なのに刺激され、キャプテンの美穂をモデルにしてポスターを作って部員の大募集を行った。集まったのはチャーミングな美穂に惹かれた‘心情私設応援部員’の男子学生が圧倒的に多かったが、何とか定員に達し、監督を中心に特訓が始まる。大学のバスケット部を舞台に、恋愛・友情に揺れる若者たちのストーリー。
