An unknown person has started a mysterious "ceremony." It is something that already exists before meaning is even born. Once begun, it cannot be stopped. Is it a blessing, or a ritual of farewell? And where does the answer lie? The film portrays the story of one such "ceremony" that exists somewhere in the world.

深泽雅仁（竹野内丰 饰）和妻子庆子（水野美纪 饰）共同经营着一间小小的照相馆，带着儿子英治（广田亮平 饰）与女儿绘里奈（吉田里琴 饰），四口之家过着平静但充满了幸福的生活，近来，全家人都在巨大的期待之中，因为庆子腹中的小小生命，这个家庭新的一员即将诞生。一次意外中，英治和绘里奈遭遇了可怕的车祸，绘里奈在车祸中身受重伤，不幸死去。小女儿的死给家庭带来了巨大的冲击，庆子陷入了深深的自责之中无法自拔。随着时间的推移，在从灾难中幸存的英治的开朗和乐观的影响下，庆子渐渐走出了阴影，重整心情，准备迎接新生命的到来，可就在这时，雅仁压抑已久的悲痛却爆发了。
