Hari, a village boy, travels to Varanasi to pursue higher studies. However, he falls into trouble after he unintentionally cheats on his girlfriend, Devu, with his classmate, Amritha.

Pakshe movie is all about Balachandran (Mohanlal) who had to sacrifice his childhood love (Shobhana), to marry into a rich family who only wanted his IAS Status, in order to save his poor family, lives a life of regret and despair for his decision.
