Going into this film I did not think it was a love story for some reason, despite the cover art blatantly featuring a couple of young lovers in the middle of their love thing. I'm not very much into love stories anymore tbh, though it's very well filmed and all. I thought the soundtrack was really nice. I've watched half of the film and decided to stop there. There's this one point where the story wraps up neatly with the protagonist returning to the status quo. I liked this guy too much to see him go back and make yet more mistakes. I'd like to imagine he went on to continue painting and by old age became one of the greatest artists of his generation. Maybe he's found himself a good wife who isn't into all of this power-play bullshit, and they led a life of tranquility and peace. Maybe the guy established an art school and taught kids to draw for a living. The film doesn't make it very clear in which period it is set, so I'll just pretend it's not the early 20th century, so that they may have a bright future. As for the other characters, I'm glad to not know what happens to them and I ain't even gonna imagine. It doesn't matter really.
