Weird that I used to consider this a masterpiece. The characters are pretty shallow. Just deep enough to make it fun to watch, but not deep enough to care about them. This time I picked up on a lot of comedy though. Not sure if all of it was intentional, but there's these weird moments here and there, comedic pauses, clumsiness, people often act like idiots or like caricatures. Which kinda adds to the fun tbh. But also the movie's pretty simplistic. Fun little revenge story with some overly gruesome scenes at times. Choi Min-sik brings it, as always. Probably my favorite bit in the whole film is when a girl refuses to follow his commands and there's this brief moment of him looking for something to throw at her lol. A lot of hilarious little scenes in this film. Weird how I never noticed them before. But as far as depth goes, I'm genuinely surprised at my younger self and how I used to consider this anything more than just a well-made action movie. P.S. Btw, the version I watched this time, didn't have that one fuck scene. Weird that they decided to censor it and not all the over-the-top violence.
