I can't quite put my finger on why this game failed to captivate me, but it did. Sure, the interface is not the most intuitive, but it seems fine overall. I think I've just played enough 4X's that this game does simply doesn't impress me. I didn't really notice it doing anything special or interesting that I haven't seen in other games. I found both Warlock: Master of Arcane (including its sequel) and Fallen Enchantress more interesting. The former because it leans more into the 4X side of things, and the latter because it had some unique features.
