Started noticing decorations and ads popping up this weekend....six weeks before Halloween.

Anyone else think the true meaning behind these festive days and holidays gets a bit lost when marketing is done so far in advance? Especially Thanksgiving and Christmas here in the US.

Black and white photo of a 2-2.5 meter tall Halloween skeleton taken in a small indoor shopping mall in 4x3 landscape format.

The skeleton is pictured from the pelvis up with both arms outstretched to its front, as if to say "I'm coming to get you". Glowing hearts are centered in its dark, deep-set eye sockets.

The background consists of framing architecture intersecting vertically at the right third of the frame, creating four sections of 15-45 degree triangles opening to the left. From bottom to top:

1. Deep shadows from the top half of the storefronts. Decorative string lights run horizontally across the frame.

2. A single light colored load bearing support beam, two white plank siding runners, and three dark gain plank siding runners.

3. Six two-paned rectangular windows on the left, and two rectangular two-paned rectangular windows on the right.

4. Dark colored grained wood planks decorate the mall's roof. The left architectural framing line starts at the top left third of the photo.

Lunch date with wife at our favorite pizza restaurant.

Black and white photo of a dimly lit backroom arcade in portrait format.

A single Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy pinball machine dominates the scene, filling over 75% of the photo from the right side. The vertical face displays the five main characters from the first film. Clockwise from top: Star Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Rocket Racoon, and Drax, with Star Lord and Gamora emphasized with larger figures. Below the characters is a large rectangular display showing the current high score, titled "GGRAND CHAMPION LWL 3,205,930,170", and decorated with multiple overlapping light colored hexagons.

The top of the playing tables glows with reflections of the vertical table face. Inside the top half of the table numerous bubble lights inside the table, three pinball chutes on right and left, a small rocket racoon figure, and a large brain split in half are visible. The lower half of the table is blurred out of focus due to depth of field.

In the background right of the pinball machine, an outside window flares with glow from sunlight outside the room. Two chairs and a portion of a small dining table at the middle right edge.

Probably because of the natural living tree fencing, but instead of running away, the fawn approached me and got within 2-2.5 meters.

Black and white photo of 4-5 month old fawn in square format.

The fawn is about 2-2.5 meters away, peeking through an opening in a natural living tree fence in our neighbor's back yard, and looking directly at the camera. Long branches and pine needles create an irregular shaped frame around the fawn's head and shoulders. A second glowing dreamy "frame" outside the is first frame is created by shallow depth of field from branches and pine needles closer to the camera.

A small landscape berm cuts horizontally across the bottom fifth of the frame, and is intersected by a 20cm diameter tree trunk drawn vertically from the top the left third of top of the photo down to the berm.

Black and white landscape format photo of a broadleaf evergreen shrub growing in our yard.

Three stems at the 1 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock positions are in the center of the photo. Each stem group has three large leaves with prominent veins in a root-like structure. At the 11 o'clock position a new growth of four stems with the same three-leaf pattern has begun. They are surrounded by more groups of three leaf repeating patterns in the background along both the top edge, and also the bottom right corner of the frame. The bottom left corner is composed of dark black shadows and glowing white circles of light reflecting from pebbles beneath the shrub.

This year has been a **HUGE** downward adjustment since hurting my back at the beginning of the year. Had to cut back volume, load and intensity, and completely revamp how I approach working out.

Life's a roller coaster of ups and downs, so you just gotta roll with it and ACCEPT change; **especially** aging.

On the bright side, I finally found a basic combination my body agrees with, so motivation slowly returning.
