Local stone carved with Greek letters from 300 BC, Regional Museum of Messina, Sicily, Italy
I found it difficult to imagine some stone carver carving these letters so many centuries ago. It doesn’t seem possible that we can still read their work today.

Cat carved in wood
I bought this exquisite little carving of a cat with clipped ear at a thrift store years ago, artist unknown. Every time I look at it I'm touched at the artist's sensitivity by including the cat's clipped ear, denoting neutering as a feral and, presumably, a rescue cat.
It measures roughly 6 x 4-1/2 inches (15.24 x 11.43cm).
