Color image of sunrise in Akron, Summit County, Ohio, USA, 24 September 2026. Image shows the sky orange at the horizon lighting up a long, thin gauzy cloud deck in brilliant orange, red, yellow, gray, and blue hues, blue sky above brightening at dawn, with the city still asleep below, the buildings still lit by their overnight lighting.

Winter at Yosemite Falls

As Ive written about in many of my images Yosemite National Park is truly one of the most magical places on earth in my humble opinion. Yosemite Falls s the center piece of Yosemite Valley being the tallest waterfall in North America and the 2nd tallest in the world.

Winter At Yosemite Falls

A soft winter hush settles over Yosemite Valley as the great waterfall emerges through drifting veils of cloud. Fresh snow clings to the granite like powdered sugar, brightening every ledge and ridge, while the falls themselves plunge in a pale, silken ribbon that glows against the storm‑washed rock. The air feels cold and clean — that crisp, metallic scent of recent snowfall — and the clearing mist wraps the entire scene in a quiet, luminous stillness that makes the valley feel both immense and intimate at once.
