Leave me be. I am sleeping through hump day and the rest of the week.
Today, I lost another friend. I found my dog Harrison had died in his sleep overnight. A little over twelve years old, he was a very active bigger, younger brother to my other dog, Harvey. A year and half ago, he became lame and incontinent because of a nerve problem. I tended to him and changed his diapers several times each day. I saw he was sad, though, and growing weaker. Last night he let go. He was a good boy to my wife and I and a good older sibling to our kids.

Today was World Sleep Day, which is certainly the best idea given the current temperatures. But of course the Rudel wanted to go out, and as there are some trees in the meadow, we took plenty of breaks in the shade – all the dogs are very happy. Now we can air the place out, but apparently Germany are playing football at the moment; at least that’s what the pub next door is shouting into the night. We’ll let them have their fun and are enjoying frozen yoghurt with sheep’s cheese (and the chronicler, a cold beer). A lovely day.

I don't have any professional-grade equipment or skills, but I love photography in everyday life. Simple snapshots of us for the occasion.

I wanted to get Flicka a 4th of July shirt because we are going to a party, but there were no good ones at the store. I bought a 12 month old kid shirt and some paint. Stay tuned for the final result!
Today’s supervisor wants to make sure I know that I may touch but not *have* the ball.
Frau #Atelierhütehund hatte keine besonders gute Woche und eine noch schlechtere letzte Nacht. Wir gehen dann lieber gleich mal Herrn Tierarzt ein Auge auf sie werfen lassen.

Hanging out with friends is the best part of doggy day care!
"I was just taking a nap on my little concrete doorstep," says Josie.
Still trying to get back into a normal rhythm after the fireworks. Our turn for 100F temps soon, so lots of night creatures are keeping Geo awake
