First, as a content creator you should above all own your intellectual property!
Second, you should not be dependent on a third party and their platform to get paid for attracting visitors to your content.
Third, your content should be published on your own website and shared elsewhere — to direct visitors to your site, where your rules apply.
Complaining about being willingly owned by a greedy company is pointless. 😉

![The image is a black and white photograph that captures the face of an Olmec stone head, which is known for being one of the oldest representations of human figures in Mesoamerican culture. The statue appears weathered with visible grooves and indentations on its surface, suggesting it's quite old or made from a material prone to erosion.
The background behind the figure shows hints of natural elements such as grasses and possibly rocks or other remnants that are part of an outdoor environment where this stone head is located. There’s no direct indication if there's any modern context in which these figures exist, giving it a timeless quality.
This photograph carries historical significance as Olmec culture dates back to around 1500 BCE, predating the well-known Maya and Aztec civilizations by several centuries. These statues are considered some of the first examples of sculpture art in Mesoamerica and their purpose remains subject to debate among archaeologists—some suggest they were used for religious or funerary rituals.
The specific piece is noted as being captured by Ed van der Elsken, a renowned travel photographer known for his work with Magnum Photos. His pictures often highlighted the cultural richness of places he visited, which in this case includes Mexico where such Olmec artifacts are found. ![The image is a black and white sketch portraying four individuals, with strong lines and contrasts indicative of a drawing style. The composition features three women at the forefront and one man behind them to their left side.
From left to right: The first figure appears to be a male character wearing a top hat, holding what seems like a cane or staff adorned with intricate designs near its base; he has a prominent mustache and is looking directly towards the viewer. Next to him stands another female figure donning a wide-brimmed hat, earrings, and a decorated headpiece. She gazes outwards from her position within this group of characters.
The central woman looks into the distance with an intense gaze, wearing what appears as hoop earrings and holding something close to her chin that could be interpreted in various ways due to its unclear shape; she is depicted without significant adornment compared to other figures. The last visible figure on the right seems like a child or young adult facing away from the camera towards more individuals not fully shown within this frame, wearing glasses.
The background features indistinct shapes and objects that give no clear context but add depth to the scene. One notable symbol in the composition is a yin-yang sign held by an ambiguous figure on its right side; it adds a mystical or philosophical element to the artwork. The first figure on the left is wearing a top hat, glasses, and has facial hair, suggesting an older man in formal attire. Next to him stands another male character dressed as if he's part of a naval crew, holding what appears to be a telescope or binoculars.
The central female figure has dark eyebrows, prominent cheekbones, and wears earrings; she is depicted with a contemplative expression, possibly representing the artist Frida Kahlo based on her distinctive features. To the right stands another female character adorned in a flowing dress resembling traditional Mexican attire, holding what looks like a skull mask or decorative piece.
Behind these figures are ornate decorations that resemble part of an interior setting, including floral arrangements and draped fabrics, contributing to a scene rich with cultural symbolism. The overall composition is reminiscent of surrealist elements blended with folk art influences, possibly indicating themes related to identity, culture, and perhaps the contrast between life and death or reality and imagination.
