This is a black and white photo in portrait format of an ornate clock set in an stone sculpture topped with a statue of Mercury entitled 'The Glory Of Commerce' and located overhead the facade of the Grand Central Terminal railway station in New York City (2012).

At the centre on the base of the photo is the round clock, set in stone with roman numerals surrounding it's face and with two large dagger like hands indicating the time: in this case, seventeen minutes past six. The camera is on the ground, perhaps twenty metres below the sculpture and angled upwards. Only the centre section of this large and ornate statue is visible in the photo. Standing above the clock is the statue of the mythical figure Mercury, filling about three-quarters of the height of the photo, naked other than a cloak around his shoulders and covering his waist. His right arm is outspread while his left hand is holding a staff with two snakes entwined around the top. On his head is a helmet with two small outspread wings. Behind him is a large eagle with it's wings spread out and long head and neck touching Mercury's right leg. To the rear of the statue is one of the many high-rise office blocks surrounding the building.

The sculptures were designed by the french sculptor Jules-Félix Coutan, weigh about 1400 tons and when unveiled in 1914 was considered to be the largest sculptural group in the world.
