It was in this exact spot in late October 1859 that the first body was found. Almost 30 years later, May 1st 1888, the remains of the last victim were also found here.
The Shadow, as the murderer was known, was never caught. Some say he was from Maltese aristocracy, others a deranged and disfigured port worker.
The street lies silent now but the sun still refuses to shine.
