It’s hard to decide which photo I like best. They’re side by side on my roll of film, but there’s definitely a certain amount of time between the two photos. The funny thing is that there are now fields of sunflowers in my neighbourhood, so it’s no longer just a picture of southern Europe. So I walked past them almost every day with the dogs. It was hard to keep the Olympus Trip 35 steady in its holder.

At the moment, I’m working with and for a choreographer. Together with a large group of very different people, we’re creating a performance. Eventually, it will premiere in Brussels as part of the opening of a new museum.
But this photograph was taken spontaneously in the street, in between everything else. We had taken over a large square, and they were dancing and moving among the people in the street.
