#OntheWaterfront is loaded with symbolism, use of actually staging the characters in such a way they even enforce the movie's themes and storylines.
Objects (tree, swing, the person who Brando prevented from staying in the middle, ...) between the main characters symbolizing how their relation 'evolves', left/right standing of the actors, improvisation (her glove falling!), ... #movie language which is rarely used nowadays.
