Every weekend I look back at the preceding week in Kpop and pick out a music video or performance that has particularly impressed me. This week I have chosen NMIXX -- Birthday Wish.
This is the kind of mixxpop that I like! I thought the switches worked well her, with the the one to just vocal and piano being particularly effective, as it takes up the melody from that huge and wonderful chorus. I also liked hearing the musical passage from the intro reappear in the bridge.
The MV was a visual delight too, matching the celebratory mood of the song. I saw some nice outfits too -- look at Bae's dress and hat at 1:25!
