Dupont Street, Toronto. September, 2026.

I caught them there deep in conversation as I was scoping the subway entrances and surrounding area for good shots to take.

Against a painted mural of birds on the side of a building, two people sit in the lower right corner on a bench, having a conversation.

Song swap, continued. At Stewart Park, a few feet from the edge of Cayuga Lake.

One. He is playing and singing "See That My Grave is Kept Clean" (Blind Lemon Jefferson), a personal favorite of mine. I sang "Thousands or More" (aka "Sorrows Away" -- Copper Family) and "What Does the Deep Sea Say" (Doc Watson), and my wife sang three of her own compositions. We haven't been to the song swap many times since the pandemic, but I think we'll start going more often.

#1. All: Nikon SP, 5cm f/2 and 10.5cm f/2.5 Nikkor lenses, 1/125 sec. at f/5.6, Tri-X in MTTB 5+5.

Cats squeeze into he smallest corner. 🍋

In fact, there is a lemon tree next to them (right). Hopefully helpful to produce fruits for the very first time in this winter season! 😀 🙏

Two red and white tabby boycats lay snuggling together inside infront of a big window. The sun comes in. They press their bodies between planting pots, solarlight glass pots and planting materials.

Three steel cables stretch from the wall of a house across the road. The front of the building in the background belongs to an older townhouse; windows adorned with stucco and a brick arch are a sign of the house’s great age. A row of colourful training shoes hangs from the lowest of the three steel cables. Flensburg is widely known for these hanging shoes.

In 2022 I started a project called, A Pez Romance. I was collecting pez dispensers and photographing them with double exposure, and set against vivid backgrounds. I was aiming to capture a dreamlike childhood memory of toys and sweets. https://markbreretonart.com/2025/06/12/test-post/ #photography #art

The last correction tool: Tone Curve, plus my take on full-screen mode. Switching between panels and the inspector is a bit weird, but also cool.

For now, I kept the tone curve correction simple by changing the RGB values simultaneously. Does anyone change these individually?

“Tuolumne Meadows, Evening” — The day’s last sunlight on Lembert Dome the Sierra Crest.

My landscape photography often involves what might be described as hunting. I look for the potential of good light conditions and for locations with subject and compositional promise and then I… hunt. I wander, I go with hunches. I use what I know about light and terrain — but often I very much do not set out with a specific photograph in mind. This photograph was not made that way.
