To: Elliott From: Portland by Various Artists A tribute to the late Elliott Smith featuring indie-rock notables including The Decemberists, Helio Sequence, The Thermals, Swords, Dolorean, Amelia and Sean Croghan. Hard Times, the song chosen by Croghan, a close friend and former roommate of Smith's, is previously unreleased. Many of these artists knew Elliott personally, and played with Elliott at various times. The album features liner notes from those who knew and loved Elliott Smith. It was mastered by Tony Lash, Elliott’s former Heatmiser bandmate.

你应该读过他的诗，他是诗人—吴晟。 诗人的灵感来自落叶，取自朝阳，关乎宇宙，发乎心灵。吴晟当然也是，尤其是生命中的两位母亲，成为他诗作中最丰沛的灵感来源。一是生养他的农人母亲，也就是"阿妈不是诗人"一诗中，「只知道尽心尽力流汗，一滴一滴滋养家乡的田地」的诗人阿妈，另一位母亲则是诗人阿妈尽心尽力滋养灌溉的家乡田地，吴晟笔下多所描绘的吾乡，那是大地之母。与这两位母亲长久共同生活的交织情感，引领吴晟创造出脍炙人口的诗作—吾乡系列，也成就了吴晟最知名乡土文学诗人的不动地位。 文建会台湾文学馆致力推广台湾文学，第一步便选定吴晟，要将他的生平事迹与作品完全数字典藏，并衍生出有声产品的想法，交由风和日丽唱片行制作发行。产品共有两部，一是朗诵，二是歌曲，我们引吴晟最广为人知的诗句「甜蜜的负荷」作为大标，副标分别是"吴晟 诗．诵"与"吴晟 诗．歌"，"诗．诵"当然是由吴晟亲自朗诵，透过诗人自己的声音，独特的韵律，并搭配动人的配乐（由"甜蜜的负荷"主角，吴晟的小儿子志宁，与他的好友们共同制作完成），让我们闭上眼睛，却更能领略吴晟诗文中的情感与关怀。至于"吴晟 诗．歌"，则是邀集国内多位顶尖创作歌手，以吴晟的诗为词，将之谱写成歌，包括了胡德夫、林生祥、浊水溪公社、陈珊妮、黄小桢、张悬、吴志宁（929乐团），?与黄玠，并将罗大佑八零年代的作品"序说—吾乡印象"也重新收录其中。 自教职退休后，除了持续文学创作，含饴弄孙，吴晟还投入大量的时间，?精神与体力，进行植树的工作。树林是母亲过世后留下的田地，吴晟舍不得转手出售，也不愿任它荒芜，便开始在偌大的田地上种下树苗，希望能为地球环保尽一份心力，将来也可以把这片树林留给子孙。这传承与灌溉的意念，与"甜蜜的负荷"正是不谋而合。专辑包装设计师萧青阳便依此延伸，两张专辑的封面同为吴晟抱着孙子的图片，木纹也成为贯穿全辑的影像，惟"诗诵"以照片为主轴，强调诗人生活的记录，"诗歌"则使用杰利小子的版画风格绘图，既写实且抽象，呼应了音乐创作者与吴晟的诗歌深度对谈。 我们所做的这一切，其实只是想让"诗"与你的生活，更为接近。在书写文字愈被忽略的年代，我们希望透过这样的有声作品，让人们珍视文字，重拾文字，至少，也能试着听见文字的美好。

2008年是創作型才女歌手大放異彩的一年，SONYBMG旗下的Epic Records與全美傳媒公推為「捧紅歌手的駐唱場地」的The Hotel Cafe聯手合作發行的精選特輯【The Hotel Cafe Presents Winter Songs】感性邀請Sara Bareilles、KT Tunstall、Brandi Carlile、Ingrid Michaelson…等10多位才情洋溢的女歌手一起用歌聲傳遞冬日聖誕季節的溫暖情意，有的歌手傳唱聖誕經典名曲，有的歌手則是根據聖誕節的主題與氣氛彈唱自創曲，此張精選特輯的收益將捐給美國乳癌防治機構—Susan G.
