Charlie Kenton is a washed-up fighter who retired from the ring when robots took over the sport. After his robot is trashed, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son to rebuild and train an unlikely contender.

A childless couple bury a box in their backyard, containing all of their wishes for an infant. Soon, a child is born, though Timothy Green is not all that he appears.

After losing his job and wife, and spending time in a institution, a former teacher winds up living with his parents. He wants to rebuild his life and reconcile with his wife, but his father would be happy if he shared his obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles. Things get complicated when he meets a woman, who offers to help him reconnect with his wife, if he will do something very important for her in exchange.

故事发生在七十年代的台湾，金穗月（江淑娜 饰）和丈夫刘航生（梁修身 饰）从大陆撤退至此，后者曾经是陆军上校，如今不过一介平凡的出租车司机，同样需要为了生活打拼。初来乍到，夫妻两人的日子过得十分辛劳，再加上膝下四个孩子，压力可想而知，然而，一家人最重要的就是在一起，他们相互扶持，苦中有乐。
刘国梁（林晖闵 饰）是即将参加联考的备考生，身上背负着一家人殷切的期望。刘亮亮（汪筠书 饰）则是家里最受宠的小女儿，个性活泼开朗喜爱自由的她常常在外面惹是生非，没少挨金穗月的揍。一天，刘亮亮为了救同学只身闯入火场，最终受伤陷入了昏迷。
