On July 17th/16th, Ribbon Music will release on behalf of John Maus, throughout the world, a sixteen song collection of music spanning eleven years of creative output titled A Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material.

"Third album 'We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves' breaks new ground for Maus. The shirt pulling and air punching of his impassioned live performance is finally captured in all its frenzied appeal alongside a tender inner space. After stretching muscles with opener "Streetlight", arpeggiators bubble up to new levels with "Quantum Leap", a song full of dead zones, glancing slaps and oscillating solos.

"Heart to heart, mind to mind, we are the ones who seem to travel through time," intones Maus resolutely through the mist. John's lyrics are as likely to touch upon themes of Cronenberg gore just as much as the musings of Jacques Rancière. It's this no-brow approach that makes things interesting, casting Maus as a savant and allowing his music to startle us in ways whereby we open up to the unimaginable.

Savages’ second album, Adore Life, was recorded at RAK Studios, London in April 2015. Johnny Hostile was the producer and Richard Woodcraft the engineer. Anders Trentemøller took care of the mixing in Copenhagen.

Echo & the Bunnymen are an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1978. The original line-up consisted of vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant and bassist Les Pattinson, supplemented by a drum machine.

Notes : Remastered CD reissue of the third album of Thierry Müller (aka ILITCH) released in 1985 under the name of RUTH ( in dedication to Ruth who "left"), with a 16 pages booklet (which includes the remastering of the original vinyl booklet), plus three bonus tracks : two versions of Polaroïd/roman/photo from 1982 & 1984 and a remix track by L’Orchestre Inachevé (aka Patrick Müller and Laurent Saïet).
For this RUTH album, Thierry Muller had the collaboration of Phippe Doray, Frédérique Lapierre, and Edouard Nono for the texts, Marc Duconseille for some arrangements and the help of several other musicians. This ensemble gives a very musical and structured album, with fine arrangements which give, like in Ilitch’s albums, some powerful climates.
We can define “Polaroïd/roman/photo”, if its possible, like a relax mood erotic-melodic-synthe-80’s pop album.
Polaroïd/roman/photo (the track, text by Philippe Doray) , with Mots and Mabelle ( a kind of ”disco” revisited version of Waiting for Mabelle on Ilitch/10 suicides) are, in 85’ and even now, cult in Germany, northern Europe and Japan.
At last and not at least, we can listen to a clever cover of She brings the rain by Can. The first cover of a Can piece recorded and published on a LP.
