On 18 October, a 30-second clip of "Hello" was shown on UK television during a commercial break on The X Factor. Three days later, BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show presenter Nick Grimshaw hinted that Adele's first single release from the album would be premiered on the programme on 30 October. However, on 22 October, Adele confirmed in the statement announcing details of 25's release that "Hello" would be released on 23 October as the lead single for the album.
