The word "Ultimate" in the title is justified.

Probably the best character roster, more arenas, more game modes, I think better AI? Also, I may have not noticed it in vanilla MK3, but the ability to chain attacks makes combat so much smoother, even though it's still mostly stiff (which was the style at the time).

This is the only 16-bit MK that I completed as a kid and am still able to complete today. It still has plenty of frustrating moments, but the gameplay finally reaches the point of being truly enjoyable.
