2012年にニンテンドー3DSで発売された『閃乱カグラ Burst -紅蓮の少女達-』の続編にあたる。ゲームシステムは前作までのベルトスクロールアクション型アクションから3Dフィールドによる、いわゆる『無双』系アクションへと変更されている。新たに最大4人による対戦プレイ（2on2方式）モードが追加された。物語の時間軸は前作の半年後。プレイアブルキャラは国立半蔵学院や元秘立蛇女子学園の抜け忍集団・焔紅蓮隊の他、死塾月閃女学館や秘立蛇女子学園の新メンバーなど新規キャラクターが追加された。前作に登場した秘立蛇女子学園のメンバーは、蛇女子学園の出資者にして黒幕である道元を斬り、他の選抜メンバーと共に学園に追われる抜忍になっており、秘立蛇女子学園から新たな選抜メンバーが登場する。 また、新たな勢力・死塾月閃女学館の選抜メンバーは、伝説の忍「半蔵」のライバルであった「黒影」の弟子達で、半蔵学院に「学炎祭」を仕掛けることになった。ストーリーモードは死塾月閃女学館や秘立蛇女子学園、国立半蔵学院、焔紅蓮隊の視点で進むが、焔紅蓮隊は条件を満たさないと選択出来ない。ただし隠しコマンドでいきなり出す方法がある（ちなみに同じ日に発売された週刊ファミ通に掲載されていた）。

I feel like I lost several brain cells before I ever got to the gameplay, which takes so long to get to that I almost gave up.

You sit through like 10 logos, then a cutscene, then some fucking visual novel bullshit where the story is just softcore porn, and not the good kind. Then you spawn at the headquarters and gotta go through the missions door, after which there's more visual novel bullshit.

Finally you're in the game and it's a fucking tiny arena where you get to fight a crowd of the same enemy with like two or three combo attacks. It's braindead. It's worse than if you take Dynasty Warriors and remove anything involving strategy from it. Just a dumb button-masher for horny weebs, that's all it is.
