a review of 纽瓦克众圣

Feels like two episodes of the show, except it's not a good thing in this format. The brilliance of the show was how it felt like it had no structure, like it was always ongoing and would never end (and it didn't). But in the TV format that's the best kind of writing you can do. For a 2-hour movie, where you have to establish a lot of characters and themes, it feels flat. It needs more time. Furthermore, it's not helped by how ugly it looks. It's somewhat okay in the nighttime, but the daytime scenes look disgusting. The show looked incredible for a TV show. A movie is supposed to look better, but here we are. And the casting could've been much better, especially in regards to the side characters.
