The Cremator (1969)

Salo double-feature. The more I learn about fascism, the more I realize that it really has nothing to do with politics, a misguided attempt at a utopian society or concern for your fellow man. It's a grift designed to satisfy the sick, perverted desires of the most depraved, psychopathic, hylic scum that roams this planet. A person that embraces fascism is already rotten at their core. There has never been a prospect of salvation for them. This movie depicts the mechanics behind the process. Nazi ideology is not something that corrupts the cremator, it's something that brings out his true nature. It fits well his pre-established suppressed desires, so he allows it to take over and give him excuses to indulge in his wildest fantasies. Between this and Salo, you can see the entire roster of the archetypes that make up the political apparatus of any fascist government. This is a good movie if you want to understand what fascism is and how it operates on the most fundamental level, which is the esoteric level.
