The Trump Administration’s War on Children
—

The administration is quietly putting America’s children at risk by cutting funds and manpower for investigating child abuse, enforcing child support payments, providing child care and much more.

The whole “protect the #children” stuff makes a lot more sense when you realize that they treat their children like their #possessions, so it’s less “let our children live their best lives” and more “don’t mess with my long term #investment”

A Mind in the past, Eyes on Tomorrow (2025)
‘On 8 December 2024, the Assad regime fell in Syria. After decades of dictatorship and years of intense war, it was a day that, like many Syrians, I never expected to witness,’ writes Fouad Hallak. ‘I left Syria in 2016 because of the regime’s violence and came to the Netherlands seeking refuge. For years, I could not go back. But when the regime fell, I knew I had to return...

读过 Who Was Bob Marley? 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑

Who Is Taylor Swift? 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
作为 Who is ...

Who Was Salvador Dalí? 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Who Was Johnny Cash? 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑

Who Was Langston Hughes? 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

“All Our Future Money Is Gone”: The Impossible Task of Providing Child Care in Rural Illinois
—

Though the governor promised to make Illinois “the best state” to raise young children, child care continues to disappear. And, as one couple learned, there’s almost no help for those building a child care facility from the ground up.

When the Casners signed the deed for their new child care center, their dreams felt within reach. But even a $600K loan wasn’t enough. They borrowed $200K from their retirement, and it took another 10 months for their doors to open.

Here’s why.
