Time for a new avatar.

This one is from a large wall graffito in my home town of Wanganui (or Whanganui, but I'm old school when it comes to naming the city as opposed to the river and district) in New Zealand.

I don't know who painted it. Would happily credit them. I attach the whole graffito below; it may be found by looking NW in the 2020 Street View image at 39°56'03.2"S 175°03'18.8"E (first alley off Taupo Quay north of Victoria Avenue).

Photo my own, taken in 2022.

A giant creature, fish-like in the tail but with a whale's face fixed in a smile, swims along a brick wall. A band around its shoulder holds a set of artificial pectoral fins in place. On its neck rides a furry creature wearing a crown and peering ahead using a periscope. Both creatures have large, soulful eyes.

Welcome to the future. #street #streetphotography #graffiti #pasila #Helsinki

A graffiti showing Andy Warhol and the famous citation “In the future, everyone will be world famous for 15 minutes”. Somebody striked the second line through with a spray bottle and wrote “filmed 24/7”. Above the graffiti there is surveillance camera fixed to the wall.

The Point Reyes Beached

The Pt Reyes has been one of my favorite photographic subjects ever since I discovered washed up on the shore of Tomales Bay many years ago.
I drove out to her a couple of weeks ago as there was talk of having her removed as she has now become a safety hazard.

The Point Reyes Beached

The weathered hull of the Point Reyes rests in quiet dignity along the edge of Tomales Bay, its peeling paint and sun‑bleached timbers telling a story of endurance and time’s slow, poetic touch. Soft coastal light wraps the abandoned vessel in a gentle glow, highlighting every crack, curve, and rust‑kissed detail as the calm water mirrors its fading grandeur. This striking composition invites viewers into a moment of stillness and nostalgia—perfect for collectors who want a piece of California’s maritime soul on their wall.

🚢 All aboard the Fun Ship! TSS Duke of Lancaster, moored near Mostyn Docks in North Wales

The ship was installed here in 1979, and it was dubbed the "Fun Ship." This clever business venture allowed the owner to circumvent Sunday trading laws (as these didn't apply to ships). It closed in 2004.

In 2012 graffiti artists from Europe and the UK were commissioned to spray murals. In 2017 the ship was repainted black!
