This photo shows a view through a large, weathered stone archway in Asolo, Italy. The arch frames a narrow, cobblestone street that leads toward a building with light-colored walls and green shutters. A tall, slender cypress tree stands prominently on the left side of the street, and a hanging lantern is visible at the top of the arch. The scene is illuminated by bright sunlight, casting distinct shadows along the textured brick wall on the right.

The bee is completely covered in yellow pollen grains, except for its wings, eyes, and antennae. The crocus flowers are visible from the side, their petals pointing upwards, only partially revealing their bright orange-yellow central parts. The bee is resting after feeding on the flowers.

A monochrome, square-format photo of a rural winter scene. It is snowing. We can see flakes against the silhouette of trees on the right. Plough marks in the empty rice paddies on either side of a road have been highlighted by snow which is starting to stick. The road however, is wet. Gaggles of umbrellard school children are making their way home tracing the curve of the road as it stretches towards the horizon. Behind them and nearest the viewer is a T-junction, thin plastic bollards marking the edge of the road and a pedestrian crossing.

A gentle slope climbs to the left of this square image. The ground is carpeted in a light covering of snow. Four wooden boxes are dotted about the floor. It’s unclear what their purpose is as they stand amidst a thick bamboo grove. Where snow has collected on the ribs of the slender trunks, the bamboo has small white triangles like a series of guiding arrow heads. In the distance a gust of wind has dislodged snow from upper branches sending an airy avalanche between the limbs.

A photo of wild plants withstanding the snow one winter's day. The light is coming from the east and dappled kissing the pristine snow. The plants are dry, thin stalks with the remains of seed heads and old blossoms, now turned black and forming little constellations with their soft silhouettes. Those plants that are in the soft sunlight reveal a sandy brown hue to their stalks. The winter image feels still and quiet, as it was.
