I've written #introduction toots before. Several older ones have been pinned 📍 to my account. But, as I am trying to combine my three accounts into just this one, I wanted to write a new introduction here.

I am Pixy, or Cynni, and am currently 46 years young/old. I have identified as bi for many years, but lately, I feel that enby suits me better. Or autienby even.

I have many different health issues, both mental ones and physical ones. Main health topics that I may Toot about are: cptsd, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, autism, ADHD, and hypermobility. I have had many hip surgeries in the right side, where I'm currently using my third take hip.

I have lived with my furry soulmate Arwen for almost 12 years. She was my whole world... Unfortunately, she passed away on July 4th 2025. On February 25th 2026, a chocolate Labrador litter was born. The girl that "should" have been my gall, she didn't make it. Due to circumstances, a boy pup became available. So, since April 22nd 2026, Koa Koolani is living with me, spicing up my life (and eating all my spoons, among other things 😉).

In the other pinned 📍 toots, I have explained more about me and the Fedi. How I sometimes struggle with social interaction. How I find it easier to "just" like or boost even, but find it harder to actually reply with words.

Currently struggling a bit with my. AuDHD, as my routine has been broken when Koa came, and we're still working on getting back to a routine that works for me (and him).

I try to use hashtags as much as I can. I always do my best to add alt texts to my images and videos. Yes, I do use AI for certain things, as some things I just can't do properly on my own... 😔

I’ve never done an #Introduction post, so...

I’m Tim. I have #MultipleSclerosis, and although that’s only a part of me, it’s shaped my life hugely since diagnosis (in 2009, after 4 years of symptoms). I’m a much kinder person than I used to be and I’m grateful for that, even if the disease itself is a bastard. I used to run marathons, but #MS eventually put paid to that, so now I swim in a lake and row on a river instead. I try to focus on what I have and not what I’ve lost.

I have an MA in medieval history; I work as a PM for a large corporation, (but not very hard); I’m a trustee/director of a Nottingham-based charity combatting domestic violence. As a middle aged, white, CIS guy, this has been a real eye-opener; I’m a member of my local #parkrun core team; I’m a qualified running coach. I have loads of tattoos.

I’m interested in politics but try to focus on being a force for good myself. Nauseating, no?

It’s a little complicated (and probably too long and too much).

I’ve been lieven for a few years now but it’s not my actual name. My real name is that rare I can find only about 5 people with the same name in the world (but none with the same spelling). Seemingly I’m the only one in Europe, at least in modern times.

That’s what happens when you choose your name with care and take a few years to find it. My previous name was also rare though shared with a famous cartoon (not intentional). There’s a story why that name became history too. Maybe one day I’ll share.
The name originally given to me came alongside a traumatising religious event by the two people who ended up abusing me until I was removed from the home at 13 and those two eventually had a judge revoke their parental rights.

I take a lot of pride in the person I’ve become – me. It was not easy to get here. At the same time, there’s still a lot of lingering trauma and I’ve yet to find my tribe.
As an outspoken queer neurodivergent mixed-race writer who consistently writes about society’s errors and highlights the lives of the vulnerable among us I’ve made a lot of enemies and have seen a lot of violence.

I’m an activist who doesn’t hold up a protest sign but a mirror.

Proud as I am of my identity, I am also deliberately anonymous online. Not by choice, but for my safety. I hope you understand.

That said, I am very much human. Too human, at times.

I care and am fiercely political. Given my identity I have no choice. I wish more people cared.

Beyond all that, I mentor queer youth. I am a storyteller and help others tell their stories. I am an artist who works primarily online, with text; sound and sometimes animation.

I build pretty little confrontational worlds.

I have a diverse professional background and am occasionally hired to do other things as well. Sometimes you just need the money.

I’m a millennial but I’ve come to the conclusion linear time no longer serves me.
If I am not online I am probably working out, reading or sleeping.

I’m barophobic but that’s only sensible.

Want to seduce me? Contemporary art, politics, music, sustainability, interior design, fashion and empathy turn me on. As long as you make an effort and don’t just go for the easy and the obvious.

The fediverse seems a nicer, better, place to be. I’m glad I’m finally here.

This is the first post from littleOne (littleone.littlefedi.social), the first littleFedi instance open to outside users.

littleFedi is a new ActivityPub server, still in active development, written in Go and shipped as a single binary. It speaks standard ActivityPub, so it federates normally with Mastodon, snac, GoToSocial, Akkoma and the rest of the fediverse, and it exposes a Mastodon-compatible API, so most existing apps already work with it.

A few things about it that aren't the usual fediverse defaults:

• Catch-up instead of an algorithm. Timelines stay chronological, full stop. There's a separate /catchup page, visited on demand, that ranks what you missed using only signals this instance already has locally - who you follow boosted it, replies and favourites delivered here, hashtags you follow. No external popularity data comes in, nothing about what you read is tracked. It answers "what did I miss" without turning into a feed that decides for you.

• Static blogging built in. Any post can be marked as a blog post and gets published as a plain static page under /@username/blog/, with its own permalink, Atom feed, and no JavaScript or database hit per view, while still being a normal federated post underneath. A proper home for longer writing that doesn't need to compete with a timeline.

• Self-expiring posts. Any post can be given a timer and auto-delete on its own.

• Bubble timeline. A middle ground between local and federated: a timeline scoped to a set of instances you've chosen to group together, not just your own or everything.

• littleMesh. A way to federate without a public domain, certificate, or open port at all - meant for something like a Raspberry Pi behind NAT. Instances get an address derived from an Ed25519 key pair and reach each other through pinned relays that never see plaintext.

• No trends, no suggestions. These are intentionally left empty. Nothing here is trying to surface "popular" content or keep anyone scrolling longer.

• Security defaults taken seriously. Signed federation (HTTP Signatures), optional Object Integrity Proofs, TOTP MFA, audit logs, and full account export, migration and deletion if you ever want your data to live somewhere else.

This instance is here to test all of that with real accounts, not just a small group ones'. In the next few days I'll be reaching out to everyone who already told me they were interested, to set the first accounts up - an invite is coming. If you'd rather just follow along and see how it goes, that works too.

It's a test instance, so expect the occasional rough edge. If something breaks or feels wrong, tell me - that's exactly what this phase is for.

Je m'appelle Solène. J'ai 45 ans. Je vis en France et je ne prends plus l'avion depuis juillet 2024. Je suis née dans une famille artistocratique mais je ne l'ai pas choisi. Je suis une militante acharnée pour le respect de tous les droits humains depuis que j'ai l'âge de 15 ans et ça fait rire mes proches. Je suis ânière (éleveuse d'ânes) et je suis certifiée intervenante en médiation par l'animal depuis octobre 2025. Je suis passionnée par l'étude du comportement des ânes. Je milite également pour que les ânes soient reconnus comme des animaux indispensables en temps de guerre ou de catastrophe.
J'ai travaillé 20 ans dans le domaine de l'humanitaire et de la coopération internationale, un peu partout dans le monde. Et j'ai notamment vécu 5 ans au Liban, 2 ans au Myanmar et 1 an aux Philippines. Je suis chrétienne, baptisée catholique à la naissance mais je boycotte la messe, notament parce que l'Eglise de France se tait à propos du Génocide en cours à Gaza. Je suis également autiste avec un très haut potentiel émotionnel et mes ami.e.s me disent Queer. Je préfère largement communiquer à l'oral plutôt qu'à l'écrit avec les gens, parce qu'à l'écrit je ne peux pas voir les émotions sur les visages des gens. C'est parfois handicapant. Sinon, je serai bientôt divorcée, je dessine comme mes pieds et je pense que je suis anarchiste mais je ne suis pas très sûre.

Am I supposed to introduce myself and #introduction ?..I confess I have never known how to use the social internet properly and the Fediverse confuses me a bit, but I feel strongly in the need to carve out alternative social spaces on the Internet. So excuse any social faux pas on my part. I am an educator and musician in New Zealand with a passion for writing complaint letters, bringing the social sciences into everything and dreaming of a world where we radically take care of each other.

By means of #introduction, I write #fantasy fiction and some #sciencefiction. I have a particular interest in sword & sorcery. I also (as of late) draw and produce #art that ties into my writing.

My work, so far, has been in short stories with some flash fiction. I occasionally write #poetry.

Somehow I don't think I've ever done one of these despite being around so long?
I work in a public library makerspace building Vorons and whatnot. I love exploring the Fediverse, especially figuring out how the different platforms can interact. Weird stuff like "Can I post to a Lemmy foraging community from Loops?", etc. I love growing edible plants native to the Northeast U.S.A., and figuring out (vegetarian) dishes that could've been made in the Eastern Agricultural Complex 7000 years ago. I try to stick to open source hardware and software wherever possible. I can read and write in ·𐑖𐑱𐑝𐑾𐑯 for some reason. I love textiles, specifically all the unique ways that threads can be linked together to produce different structures. Knitting is great, but there's also sprang and nålbinding and ply-split braiding! I love indie fighting games, especially Battle Craze!! What else... I like fermenting stuff, EndeavourOS, foraging invasives, anarchism, long walks, GrapheneOS, reading, ergomech keyboards, trackballs, and being nice to strangers on the internet.

My job as a writer is to talk about the stuff my readers don’t talk about. I’m Jackson Allen – I’m on a journey to become successfully-sufficient author of sci-fi by the end of 2026 … I hope you can join me.

I'm also the creator of @hollo, a single-user ActivityPub microblog; @botkit, an ActivityPub bot framework; Hackers' Pub, a fediverse platform for software developers; and LogTape, a logging library for JavaScript and TypeScript.

I have a long interest in East Asian languages (CJK) and Unicode. I post mostly in English here, though occasionally in Japanese or in mixed-script Korean (國漢文混用體), a traditional writing style that interleaves Chinese characters with the native Korean alphabet.
