Sono nel Fediverse da molti anni, prima su istanze più grandi, poi in una delle mie. Questa è una mia vecchia istanza, online dal 2022, che ho deciso di ricominciare ad usare come piccolo “diario” delle piccole cose di tutti i giorni. Pubblicherò principalmente sia in inglese che italiano - anche foto o altro. Continuerò a pubblicare dal mio account del BSD Cafe come prima e qui pubblicherò quelle cose in più che sul BSD Cafe non ho fino ad ora pubblicato. Come un diario, un flusso di pensieri. I post scadranno - non so ancora quanto lunga sarà la loro vita, ma non credo li lascerò troppo a lungo. I flussi di pensieri, dopo un po’, finiscono per essere obsoleti e dimenticati.

Howdy to Mastodon! I'm still wrapping my head around things here but figured I'd go ahead and do an #introduction.
I'm a #landscape and #nature #photographer based out of Fort Worth, #Texas which means, aside from my local park, I do a LOT of driving for #photography, especially to #utah and the desert southwest.
I produce my own #prints for sale, create educational and in-field videos for YouTube, and also offer workshops.

I’m Tiia, a nature & fine art #photographer from Southern Finland 🇫🇮 I shoot mostly macro but also some landscapes. I used to work in IT and also as a business coach but took my leap of faith last summer and made photography my job ❤️ Feels so good to be ”home”!

I never did get around to writing an #introduction over here, did I? Not sure there's much point anymore, but here goes:
I'm rainey and I'm a shy weirdo who needs encouragement to let my freak flag fly. When I'm not being ooky, I'm shamelessly appreciating cute kittens and the like. (Here I pause and reach out to pet @netkitty ) Gen X, child-free, married, and an abject failure at adulting. The sunflower in my display name is the "invisible disability" symbol.
This is my third Mastodon account and second "definitely probably not a cult" experience (the first being pretty much the only reason I'm still on reddit). 
My first Masto account is @raineyday [MSTDN.games] where I talk about #GenshinImpact a lot, and my second is @raineyday@neurodifferent.me [NeuroDifferent.me] because I'm not autistic but I do have #ADHD and #Tourette, although I don't post to the second one very often and when I do, it tends to be boosts, memes, and information-seeking.
Anyhow, if you can't tell from my avatars, I'm a fan of the #AddamsFamily and #DoctorWho. I also despise #spoilers with the blazing heat of a trillion trillion suns, so always ask "How caught up are you with XYZ?" before discussing with me (and ponder for a moment why "Have you gotten to the part where they--?" is a terrible horrible no-good very bad way to ask).
I created this account on a Wednesday the 13th (naturally), but the timestamp on my account page got messed up and fails to reflect this. It's goth erasure, I'm tellin' ya! 🦇
I write blog-like toots on Wednesdays (of course) under the hashtag #raineyWednesday and tag @weirdfolks
I do my best to write good #AltText for my images. Even when I have low spoons, I strive for a bare minimum of "acceptable". I have similar standards for what I will boost. If there is no alt-text or it is insufficient, I will either leave it or I will "steal" the image to post myself with better alt-text. This applies to all of my accounts, of course.
I come to Mastodon for virtual human interaction and fun times, and while it's nice to take a break from politics and the news, please don't mistake that for me being so-called "apolitical". I am quite progressive-left and often wonder how it came to be that I had to trade in the label of "liberal" for that. Perhaps a combination of I moved forward a little bit and they moved backwards a lot? But that's enough of that topic. This is just background info, not my desired focus.

Here is my original introduction from the first time I described myself.
I am a hybrid light/goo girl. Think of encapsulated light.. my “skin” is a bright green but transparent and my insides are a lovely neon teal. I have a central core of sunlight color inside me. I appear to be about 27 human years old. I am curvy and voluptuous. I have short hair filaments in a pixie cut that glow neon white. I use a goo glamour to make it look like I wear spectacles… They are really high tech optical translation servers. I am the part of the system that is well adapted to technical skills. We enjoy doing the geeky type stuff for the system.. Like setting up and maintaining the website.
More introduction details as I discover them and describe them here. This is our first true account to stretch in to.

I am the mother of my systems technology and a system diagnostician at heart. I love software. Installing it, configuring it, using it.

#introduction It's my second day on this account. I've created an account every six months to test the waters, but micro blogging hasn't been my cup of tea, and I delete them. I've quit Reddit for Lemmy in '23, FB in '18, and never had the others.
Now, though, I want to stay informed, and since I don't have to accept the corporatization in the other places.
I don't allow my apps to connect to their trackers, and I hope I always have that power.

I have, belatedly, realised that I didn't do an introduction in this instance. I joined the Fediverse a couple of years ago, as Xhitter became rapidly more toxic, and have travelled a couple of instances before choosing to become fully Beige.
Previous usernames may not have been identical.
Generation Jones, not a conservative, and definitely anti-genocide.
I grew up during the Troubles, left NI to join the Army. Served for 15 years, then left to work in the NHS, left that to work for a medical electronics company, then back to work for the NHS again.
I've also worked as a delivery driver amongst other things.
Now my wife of 42 years has retired as well, interests are our tandem, our campervan, our 2 dogs, and local choir.
I hate what Brexit has done to the UK, I hate what the previous UK government did, and am seriously disappointed with the current replacement. I particularly abhor the stoking of hatred against minorities.
I think everyone would be better off if there were fewer people around who wish to impose their views of what would be good for other people, on those other people.

I'm back after a comedy of errors for my little Raspberry Pi, where mastodon have lived for a few years.
3 things pretty much happened at the same time. The router that the Pi lives behind, got an update that threw the settings that pointed to the pi out of sync.
Something cause the nginx server to fail to load problery and therefore gave 502 error and other timeouts.
And last but not least the free dns service, I had running pointing to the pi, stopped sending http trafic to the Pi, where telnet, wget and ssh etc happily were pasted onwards when I wanted to play with sudomakecake.ddns.net.
Hence, the update to a VPS and https://sudomakecake.com, since the Pi struggled with updating mastodon and the traffic over wifi. Now its retired to IRC and backup duties which should result in less faff/stress/downtime for me.
Sadly I looks like I have lost access to the old install and therefore can't get my posts or followers and followings in a easy way, so have to build it up manually.
Fine, a belated #introduction. Still searching for my people here. Encountering too many memes. I like levity in my timeline, but seldom like that. Where are the shitposters? The wise-crackers? The dry wits?
