Sculpture. A bronze sculpture on the edge of Lake Geneva with the title: "Melancholy". The bronze sculpture is a life-size man sitting on a wooden bench. His stomach is missing, he consists of arms, legs and head. There is a hole in the place of his upper body through which you can see the lake behind him. His small head is lowered and his arms are crossed on his bare thighs. Everything about this sculpture expresses sadness and despair.
Info: The photo was chosen to express deep sympathy to the victims and relatives of the terrorist attack on a Christmas market in Magdeburg on December 20, 2024.

The image depicts a scenic view across the Elbe River in Magdeburg, located on German Saxony. In the foreground is calm river water with several boats moored alongside and passing through it; one appears to be a small ferry or passenger vessel, while another looks like an industrial boat likely used for cargo transport given its design features such as large paddle wheels at the rear.

Dominating the background are notable Gothic Revival architecture structures. Most prominent is St. Peter's Cathedral with two distinct spires rising above the city skyline. Various other buildings of different architectural styles contribute to a vibrant urban landscape, indicating Magdeburg’s historical significance and development over time. The colors in the image suggest it could be from late 19th or early 20th century printmaking.

The sky is clear with minimal cloud cover, implying fair weather conditions at the moment this photograph was taken. In summary, the picture captures a picturesque view of Magdeburg’s riverfront and its architectural landmarks, reflecting both historical grandeur and everyday life in an earlier time period.

Was passiert natürlich wenn ich mal bahnfahren will?

Gibt es wenigstens noch Stampfkartoffel to go in #Leipzig?
