”You may shoot me with your words, you may cut me with your eyes, you may kill me with your hatefulness, but still, like air, I’ll rise.” ~ Maya Angelou

Bridge walkway with floor of weathered wooden planks rising ahead with brown metal railings and lights glowing softly strung across in a zigzag pattern. Trees on the other side of the bridge still have some green, yellow and brown leaves. The sky is gray and overcast.

One Tree - This lone tree standing in the fields surrounded by the flood waters was so pretty bathed in the late afternoon light. Another view of the flooding that occurs almost every spring in New Patlz, NY. A lovely landscape photograph that would make a great #gift

Christmas Lights in the Woods - I noticed the lights from our tree reflected in the window and glowing in the woods outside. It felt like the trees were decorated with the magic of the season. I was hoping all the forest animals were enjoying it as well.

📷 by Artist: #KarunchaiTreetrong 🇹🇭 in Loc.: #QuarryBay / Yick Fat Building, 1048-1056 King's Rd/ #Hongkong 🇭🇰 2024 - Title: untitled - #Art #Streetart #PhotoArt #Artist #Fotografie #Architecture #Travel #Photography ➡️ #APhotoLove

Photography. A color photo of an eighteen-story skyscraper with a red double-decker bus in Hong Kong. The photo shows the lower part of a huge skyscraper with countless windows, most of which have small metal boxes for air conditioning. In front of it is a red double-decker bus with advertising (for Toshiba) and next to it a train. The wooded mountain behind the building marks a straight green line in the photo, which makes the photo special. Both fill the entire picture. On the left is the ugly gray concrete wall with countless tiny windows that form a straight cut to the impressive green of the trees on the right. The train forms a straight bottom line and the red bus stands exactly between the building and the mountain. A photo with several levels and a great view of the photographer.
Info:
The Yick Fat Building, also known as the Monster Building, was built in the 1960s. It consists of several five buildings that merge into a huge architectural complex and are all connected by a very narrow inner courtyard. It is therefore one of Hong Kong's most famous photo motifs on Instagram. Visitors call it the "Monster Building" because the buildings resemble a Transformers-like monster. It consists of 2,243 units that are 18 storeys high. Currently, 10,000 people live in the complex.

🇬🇧 Horizontal shot of a gray, overcast and foggy coastline with a breaking wave in the foreground and on the horizon a large number of ghostly sails of IMOCA class boats a few minutes before the start of the solitary non-stop Vendée Globe race around the world, accompanied by spectator boats. A breakthrough of sunlight illuminates the sea between the two planes.

Blue morning

#FensterFreitag #WindowFriday #noedit #photography #montreal

Photograph of three buildings from different eras. The one on the left is at an angle and in the sun, probably from mid 20th century, with beige smooth bricks. The one in the middle is in the shadow and from 19th century, with red brick forming four ornamental columns and very small squares in the windows. The last row of windows at the very top are semi circular with decorated beige stones on top of the columns. The building on the right is in shadow and from 21st century, with only glass windows. The two buildings in the shadow are facing the photographer and reflecting the very blue morning sky and a church with its green copper roof.

I think I'm going to be too busy over the next couple of days to post anything much here, so I'll sign off with the photo I've used for this year's Christmas card.
I'm not naive enough to think everyone will have a great holiday period, but I hope that the next few days prove better for you all than you anticipate.

Retro project.

First shot at making a small wooden box, this for a 4-CD blues/gospel mix I intend to give as a gift to someone who still enjoys the format.

Joints are mitred and pinned as can be seen if you look closely.

CD working title: 'Blues & Pews'

(See replies for further developments & stay tuned; I'll post the playlist on completion. After that: a series on my fave 'fuck corporate waste' project'.)

A small project strewn over a kitchen counter. Two blue joint clamps on a hardwood cutting board holding work in progress (0.25" 1.5" x 5.0" pine), a distinctive yellow and black drill, a red jar cap, a bottle of wood glue, materials and offcuts, the handle of a mitre saw, a ruled grey self-healing cutting pad below all.
