Zuid-Mexico, Ed van der Elsken, 1960

#Zuid-Mexico #EdvanderElsken #Mexico #fotografie #photography #EdVanDerElsken #EdvanderElsken

http://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/collection/RP-F-2019-242-1-77

The image is a black and white photograph featuring several individuals in an outdoor setting. The main subject appears to be a man wearing a wide-brimmed hat, likely a sombrero, which suggests that the location could be Mexico or another region with similar cultural attire. He holds what looks like a bundle of long leaves or some sort of natural material close to his chest, possibly indicating agricultural activity or tradition.

In the background and surrounding areas, other people are visible; one person seems to have their hand over their mouth, potentially in surprise or amusement, while another is seen holding something that could be food. The attire of these individuals varies, with some wearing what appears to be traditional clothing as well.

The setting includes trees and foliage, indicating a rural environment, possibly during an outdoor gathering or event. There's no explicit indication of the exact location within Zuid-Mexico mentioned in the reference link; however, the style of dress and items suggest this could be a depiction from that region.

Overall, the image captures a moment of everyday life with cultural undertones, suggesting a sense of community and tradition among its subjects.

Three brown pelicans cruise along the Florida coast, riding the air with those enormous wings stretched wide. Pelicans may look a little awkward on land, but once they’re airborne, that changes completely.

#GutenMorgen Fediland. ☕

Einige Leute hier betreiben MV-Bashing.

White Sands, New Mexico — where the landscape gets wonderfully simple. 🤍

Miles of white gypsum dunes, a blue New Mexico sky, and those wispy clouds that seemed to echo the curves in the sand. Some places don’t need much else.

Wide landscape photograph of White Sands, New Mexico, with sweeping white gypsum dunes stretching beneath a deep blue sky. Fine ripples texture the sand in the foreground while soft, wispy white clouds curl and sweep across the sky, echoing the gentle shapes of the dunes. A few tiny desert plants break the otherwise vast, minimalist landscape.
