Fotoreproductie van een foto van een man en vrouw pratend op een bank in Guadalajara, Mexico, Ed van der Elsken, 1960

#Guadalajara #Mexico #EdvanderElsken #fotografie #photography #EdVanDerElsken #EdvanderElsken

http://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/collection/RP-F-2019-299-46-54

The image depicts a man and woman sitting on what appears to be the steps of an urban structure, engaged in conversation. The photograph is monochrome, capturing shades of gray that emphasize textures like the lace detail on the woman's dress and the patterned fabric she holds.

Both individuals are dressed casually; the man wears a short-sleeved shirt with a dotted print and light-colored pants, while the woman sports a lacy blouse paired with a skirt. They exhibit body language typical for deep conversation—closed posture, attentive gazes towards each other, and hands clasped in a manner that suggests engagement.

The background is minimalistic, focusing attention on their interaction rather than any specific location details; however, there's enough to suggest an urban environment: the dark tone of what might be pavement or steps alongside foliage from behind them hint at greenery often found near city dwellings. The lighting and quality indicate this image could have been taken in a mid-20th-century context.

The photograph is credited as "Fotoreproductie van een foto" by Ed van der Elsken, dated 1960, with the location noted as Guadalajara, Mexico.

A close-up, eye-level photograph of a cluster of red hot poker flowers standing upright in warm sunlight. The torch-like cylindrical flower spikes display a vivid gradient of bright fiery orange and crimson buds at the pointed tips, tapering down into dense, feathery yellow and pale cream blossoms below. Delicate slender green stems rise out of a soft, dappled lawn, with a background of lush, out-of-focus garden shrubs and rustic stone walls bathed in gentle late-afternoon light.
