What the Trump Administration’s Videos From a Chicago Immigration Raid Don’t Show
---
The Trump administration’s slickly produced videos of an immigration raid at a Chicago apartment building in September showed federal agents rappelling from a helicopter and banging down doors. These are the stories of the people who were inside.

"Robert Jackson, Harry Truman, held men in custody who exterminated over 12 million civilians in camps, tens of millions more in a war of aggression.
They wished for a better world, so they tried the monsters in a court of law. #Hegseth saw smugglers (?) and couldn’t bother to capture or try them. Then when he had the success using bombs he’s had using #Signal, he returned to ensure the slaughter.
“ #Nuremberg” isn't a historical footnote with men in gray suits. It's a film about the moment we decided: civilization doesn’t survive if we let murder become policy. And if we don’t enforce it, there will always be more Pete Hegseths."

Calling from a Texas detention center, José Manuel Ramos Bastidas told his wife to hit record:
“They detained me simply because of my tattoos. I am not a criminal.”
“Just in case something happens to me, so you can be aware.”
A month later, he was gone.

After being released from Salvadoran prison CECOT, Albert Jesús Rodríguez Parra says he was relieved to be home with his family but felt traumatized.
“There is no reason for what I went through,” he said. “I didn’t deserve that.”

This is how CECOT left a mark on my countrymen, their loved ones and Venezuela.

Advance of the far right threatens the Amazon
"The far right is moving in on the Amazon. Outsider and attorney Abelardo de la Espriella's win in Colombia, Keiko Fujimori's triumph in Peru, and the state of emergency in Bolivia point to an increasingly hostile future for the planet's largest rainforest.
Added to this scenario is the alarming fact that Venezuela is a ward of the United States.
If Flávio Bolsonaro comes out on top in Brazil’s October elections, nearly the entire Amazon will be held hostage to a project based on the limitless exploration of Nature, along with most of the countries in Latin America."

Does anyone in @EUCommission have the integrity and the guts to unequivocally condemn this blatant violation of international law by the #US ?? Clearly @vonderleyen doesn't...

Venezuelan immigrants signed up for a Trump-promoted app called CBP Home, which promised a safe and easy way to leave the country, and prepared to leave on their given departure dates.
Those dates have come and gone.
They’re still stuck here.

We have "right" in #EU being against war and against defense expenditure increase, and center/left being against peace and removing funds from social/labor programs to spend on defense
We have "right" in the US and EU being against free-trade and center-left for free trade
Both are denying the governments in US and EU are bankrupt, and what they are most afraid is their own people
Can we conclude much of this pro-capitalist paranoia media is serving?
Trump promised free plane tickets and $1,000 “exit bonuses” to immigrants who opted to self-deport.
ProPublica spoke to a dozen Venezuelan immigrants who said they followed the president’s instructions, yet never received the promised assistance.

假如4年内习大大出事，那我们应该赶紧把油田炸了并埋下地雷，这样美国就很难抢到我们的石油了

Don't be surprised if, in the coming days, the United States drops all charges against Maduro.
Trump can never say no to a good bribe, especially if it includes cash AND oil rights.
So what are the odds that #Trump's decapitation of the #Venezuela government becomes as much of a fiasco as Bush's misadventure in Iraq? I rate the chances at about 99%.
