Required to retire from his job as a utility man at a Peking Opera theater, Old Han is at loose ends, wandering the backstreets of Beijing looking for something to correct.

The film depicts Confucius's later life, as he traveled across a China divided by war and strife in an ultimately futile effort to teach various warlords and kings his particular philosophy.

The story takes place in a Lisu Village near the Nu River. Di A Lu, in love with Mu Pa’s sister Ji Ni, is banned from pursuing her by Lisu tradition. One day, Mu Pa is arrested after cutting down a plant that is protected under national laws. Mu Pa’s father tries to marry Ji Ni to A Da to settle Mu Pa’s case. On her wedding day, Ji Ni, dressed in a traditional Lisu wedding outfit, disappears into a foggy mountain. Three months later, Lisu people start moving out of the mountains where they have lived for generations side-by-side with their worshipped ancestors.

2009年，导演顾长卫向社会公众发布了寻人启示，邀请HIV染者参与电影《魔术外传》的演出及幕后工作，套拍记录片《在一起》则记录了从寻访到电影拍摄的整个过程。工作人员从开拍一年前便开始通过网络寻访感染者，然而由于害怕身份曝光受到歧视，绝大部分的HIV感染者不愿意接受采访。本片主要通过网络寻访，记录网络聊天内容以及口述和实地采访方式，并对不愿曝露身份的感染者进行后期遮挡处理。在多从采访者之中，有少不更事的儿童，有涉世未深的青年，有深喑世事的成人，通过对他们的采访，了解感染者的感染途径、生存现状以及之后的打算。记录片记录了寻访过程以及三位愿意在电影中以真面示人的感染者老夏、刘老师、涛涛在剧组的生活。

For generations the Zhao family has wielded power, until their mortal enemy TU’AN GU slaughters the entire clan, determined to wipe out their influence forever. But one Zhao baby survives hidden by CHENG YING the doctor who delivered him. When Tu’an Gu learns of the baby’s escape he seizes every infant in the city, vowing to kill them all unless the Zhao baby is surrendered. As the tyrant’s soldiers arrive at Cheng Ying’s home the frantic doctor hides his wife with their own baby whilst surrendering the Zhao child as his own. But his family is discovered; his baby is presumed to be the Zhao heir and murdered along with his wife for harboring the infant. Now set on revenge Cheng Ying enrolls the Zhao orphan into the service of the Tu’an Gu household, plotting to use him as an instrument of vengeance when he comes of age.

The odd-couple courtship saga continues of wealthy, middle-aged retiree Qin Fen and serious-minded young air hostess Xiaoxiao. After an amusing prelude in which Qin presides over a lavish divorce ceremony for an amicably splitting married couple, he and Xiaoxiao decide to address their own relationship barriers — her youth and beauty, his cynical, childish sense of humor — by entering into a trial marriage while on a trip to the country's tropical southeast.

金城小子
这一次，我决定回家。
1980年，我17岁，离开老家金城去北京读书，然后工作至今。30年来，每逢春节我还是回金城的，每次都和几个小时候的朋友吃喝玩乐；他们仍然生活在这里，有的依然在小城里的工厂当工人，有的已经下岗。
金城是东北的一个小镇，以造纸厂为中心，生活着几千名工人和他们的家属以及附近的农民。1950年代的中国，工人阶级领导一切，工厂宏伟高大，几十米的烟囱浓烟滚滚，汽笛声响，上下班的工人人潮汹涌，家属们就住在附近的低矮平房里。当时的平房是成片的，北边的一片叫北宅，东边的叫东宅，南边的叫南宅，几片住宅间有农田、河沟相隔，小时侯这里是一帮伙伴调皮捣蛋的乐园。慢慢的住宅间的农田河沟被楼房填满了，慢慢的国营转制，工厂再也不热闹了，厂房几乎被新盖的楼房淹没，就象眼看着一支军队全部变成了后勤人员，前方打仗已经没有了战士。
城市化进程使我们坐火车看到的田野越来越少，一片一片楼房相连。我们忽然发现所有的城市都是一个样子，街上走的都是后勤人员，都是买卖人，工人阶级被淹没了，我们忽然发现我们都是城里人，我们的故乡都被楼房盘踞，我们都是没有故乡的城里人。现在，小时侯的朋友都胖了，当年，为了考上美术院校，我画过他们；30年过去了，我再一次画他们，趁着现在他们还没全部下岗。
我们都曾经是雇农、贫农、富农、地主，我们都曾经是无产阶级，工人阶级，工农子弟兵。
今天，我们向前大步走，我们将全部变成有产阶级，至少我们拥有水泥和砖头。
