Too early to tell if Olivia Holt should replace Vanessa Hudgens as Netflix's Queen of Christmas (*The Knight Before Christmas* sequel when?) (and yes, Rose McIver had a good run, too), but this makes a decent case for Olivia to bear the crown.
Decent fun was had!

I feel like *Jane Austen Saved My Life* would be a more apt title, really, but it's certainly not as provocative.
It's fine. A little slow.

Heartbreaking with slight moments of uplift and a glimmer of hope here and there.
But mostly heartbreaking.
Really quite clever and lovely how this was shot.
(I haven't seen many movies with Sandy Dennis, but between this and *That Cold Day in the Park*, I'm very much convinced that she is the cloth from which Julianne Moore was cut.)

It's clear that Derek Cianfrance is drawn to certain types of characters, and this certainly has them, but what sets this apart from his other works is that this is like the "fun" version of those characters (a) and (b) this is based on a true story.
