This experimental documentary is a compendium of striking images of Eastern Europe and its citizens in transition, following the collapse of the so-called Cold War. Places as diverse as Baltic beaches, and Moscow's snow-covered streets vie for attention along with the citizens of these places as they wait in lines, march in military formation, or stand idle in the waiting rooms of train stations. There is no narration, and no clear point (except the idea of transitions) is indicated by the beautifully chosen, enigmatic imagery. Indeed, there is not even much musical accompaniment. Fans of director Chantal Akerman's aggressively "non-commercial" work are likelier to find this film more appealing than the average viewer will.

Journalist Shiori Itō embarks on a courageous investigation of her own sexual assault in an improbable attempt to prosecute her high-profile offender. Her quest becomes a landmark case in Japan, exposing the country’s outdated judicial and societal systems.

Master Yoshito Ohno—son of Butoh founder Kazuo Ohno, who passed away during the shooting of this film—leads this transformative exploration of Butoh, the unique Japanese contemporary dance born from natural experience, expressed without moves or intentional meaning, that represents a communion between the living and the dead. In Butoh, “the shapes are not important but the gaps between those shapes are,” and this is incorporated in the film’s own form, through omission, cranking and reverse-motion effects, unexplained blinking, strobing and static cutaways. Invisible People endeavours to become Butoh—an expression free of meaning—and breaks the documentary mold, using sound design and atmospherics to communicate the true power of its philosophical, meditative and artistic ideals. What we don’t see is the point of seeing. Becoming a ghost is the goal. Realizing that doing nothing has as much effect as doing something is all part of Butoh’s mysterious message in this tale of fate, strange connections and serendipity.

If you are a train aficionado, you cannot miss On the Train—it captures from the birth to the last moment of the railway, 98.2 kilometers long and opened in 1992, crossing southern Taiwan. The virtue of this film lies in meeting the people who have been involved with this railway and having them rewrite the history of trains through their mouth. The film diligently collects the vivid voices of the railway workers, including railway designers, laborers who dug tunnels and lay the tracks, conductors, and train attendants. It also tells the stories of people who testify about the changed surroundings with the construction of the railroad, people who have made a living along the tracks, train photographer, train researcher, and train part collectors. This film is a meaningful resource as an omni-directional oral archive on the Southern Railway and also a self-portrait of Taiwan seen from a train.

A frank and generous portrait of the folk legend and activist with the incredible voice who, at the age of 82, continues to fight the good fight. A visual diary from a cultural icon. In a sun-drenched cabin in Woodside, California, the directors meet the now 82-year-old Joan Baez. She is one of the 20th century’s greatest folk singers and activist voices, and in the autumn of her career she contiunues to shine. ‘Joan Baez, I Am A Noise’ is structured as a visual diary anchored in Baez’s extraordinary archive, including newly discovered home movies, diaries, artworks and sound recordings. At the same time, the singer is remarkably honest and revealing about her life on and off stage – from her lifelong psychiatric struggles to her myriad activist causes with Dr Martin Luther King and others, to a heartbreaking romance and musical partnership with a young Bob Dylan. A searingly honest look at a living legend who has never told the full truth about her life – until now. 源自：
